A couple of observations, before we start: Making some semblance of a living as an "Independent Creative Spirit" is not easy, in our modern world!
In the olden days, villages and communities took care of their healers, priests, story tellers and fortune tellers by bringing them anything from food to clothing to money in exchange for their insights and wisdom. These days, creatives sadly find that they have to work as bartenders, retail clerks, janitors, dishwashers and other things first... and their true vocations are wholly dependent on their ability to pay their bills from other sources.
Sarah Nash and Zen Master Ted both have set up their own Patreon appeals as a way to help make it even possible to do what they do; to offset the cost of not going to work somewhere else.
